Sportsmans Club 2 – 2 Kincorth

1st Touch Football Premier Division at Culter on Saturday 21st May

Sportsmans fought back from two goals down to win a vital point against league leaders Kincorth.

Kincorth started with a move by McDonald and Hutchins down the left and Hutchins’ shot was saved at the second attempt by keeper Sutherland.

Kincorth were fighting for every ball with their midfield finding their front men who squandered chance after chance until the thirty fourth minute when from a set piece Livingstone floated the ball into the six yard box where Marek Madle gave keeper Sutherland no chance with a right foot shot.

No further scoring took place and the half time score was 0-1.

A minute into the second half Kincorth were awarded a free kick twenty yards from goal. Tony Livingstone stepped up and bent the ball into the top corner leaving keeper Sutherland stranded.

From the restart Sportsmans went upfield and Lee McKenzie beat keeper Stephen to reduce the deficit.

This spurred Sportsmans on and they took charge of the game. Sportsmans’ MacNamara had two chances – his first pushed out by keeper Stephen and his second just past the post with Stephen beaten.

Both teams were tiring and frustration was creeping in causing needless fouls. With three minutes left Gary MacNamara got his head to a clearance from his defence and the ball looped over the outstretched arms of keeper Stephen and into the net making the final score 2-2.
