Kincorth 3 – 2 Cove Thistle (AET)

Soccer World North of Scotland Cup Semi Final at Heathryfold on Sunday 17th April

Premier Division Kincorth finally got the better of Division One (East) Cove Thistle in this exciting game that went into extra time.

Kincorth had the better of the first half, going in front in twenty two minutes when Cove’s keeper Greig could not stop a close range shot from Kincorth’s Mark Hutchins.

Kincorth’s Madle had a great chance minutes later but blasted his shot over the bar.

Against the run of play Cove’s Craig Little levelled the score line when he chipped the ball over Kincorth keeper Stephen.

With forty three minutes on the clock Kincorth’s Mark Hutchins headed home from a corner taken by Livingstone to go into the break 2-1 up.

Cove started the better team in the second half, playing good passing football and pinning Kincorth back in their own half.

Their pressure finally paid off in seventy seven minutes when a cross from the left was not cleared and Cove’s Craig Little fired home from three yards. No more scoring took place putting the game into extra time.

Kincorth’s Mark Hutchins got his hat trick in ninety three minutes after running from his own half ,evading two tackles and beating keeper Greig with a right foot shot.

Both teams had chances to add to the scoreline but tired legs and good goalkeeping kept the score at 3-2 putting Kincorth into the final next month.
