Woodside White Cup Win

Woodside 3 – 0 Blackburn

Woodside came out deserved winners in their clash with Blackburn in the White Cup Final at Hillhead.

Blackburn had a penalty claim turned down in the first minute when Smith was taken down in the box and had to be substituted with an ankle injury.

Woodside went ahead in five minutes when Blackburn keeper Mellough could not hold a shot and the ball rebounded to Stephen Jack who scored from six yards.

Woodside had Blackburn under pressure for most of the half but could not add to the scoreline which remained 1-0 at half time.

Half-time 1-0

Woodside’s Gray was unlucky when a cross from Petrie beat the defender but Gray’s shot was pushed for a corner by keeper Mellough.

In eighty minutes Woodside went two up after a fine run by Petrie gave him the chance to cross the ball to Randolph Ross who slipped the ball under the advancing keeper.

Deep into added time Stephen Jack got his second goal when he lobbed keeper Mellough to make the final score 3-0.

Full Time: 3-0
