Echt Lift Association Trophy After 1-0 Win

The Association Cup final was an all Premier League clash between 4th placed Dyce and 2nd placed Echt at Hillhead sponsored for the first time by Colin’s One Stop Motor Shop.

Echt started the brighter team forcing two corners in the first five minutes but not taking any advantage.

In twenty minutes a free kick to Echt saw Murray’s header hit the bar, drop down and Echt players claimed a goal but referee Morrison looked at his linesman and waved play on.

Dyce hit the post at the other end when a corner was headed towards goal by Taylor but was finally cleared upfield.

Half-time: 0-0

Dyce’s Yates had a chance when he made a run down the left, cut in and fired in a shot that went narrowly past the upright.

In fifty minutes Echt had the ball in the net but the goal was disallowed for a foul on the keeper.

The only goal of the game came in seventy one minutes when Echt’s Calum Murray turned in the eighteen yard box and his fierce shot went past keeper Ord.

Dyce kept pressure on Echt’s defence but the veteran defender Victor Roger kept his back four well organised.

Full Time: 0-1
