Hazlehead Utd 2 – 2 Kintore (AET)

North of Scotland Cup Quarter Final at Kaimhill on Saturday 3rd April

Kintore pushed cup holders Hazlehead Utd all the way in this North of Scotland Cup quarter final but failed in the penalty shoot-out.

The game started at a slow pace with both teams wary of the other. Kintore were the first to attack forcing a save from keeper Fraser from McCall’s shot. The first goal came in twenty five minutes when a through ball from Hazlehead Utd’s Milne found Nicky Emslie who made no mistake from close range.

Kintore had a penalty claim disallowed in thirty minutes when Graffin went down in the box. Two minutes later Hazlehead went two up when Nicky Emslie again beat keeper Mathers making the half time score 2-0.

Fourteen minutes into the second half Kintore’s Barry Wilson made a run through the middle and beat keeper Fraser with a right foot drive. Ten minutes later Kintore were unlucky when keeper Fraser made a great diving save from the head of McLeod. With two minutes left Kintore’s McCall levelled the score to put the game into extra time.

There was no scoring in either period of extra time and the game went to penalties with Hazlehead Utd coming out 3-1 victors and go through to meet Tarves or Kincorth in the semi final.
