Hazlehead Utd 1 – 4 Kincorth (AET)

North of Scotland Cup Semi Final at Heathryfold on Sunday 25th April

Holders Hazlehead Utd were forced to make a defensive change before the game started when Grant Cheyne damaged his ankle in the warm up.

Hazlehead were the first to attack with Lawson’s shot saved by keeper Stephen’s foot in the fifth minute. Three minutes later Hazlehead’s David Macklin headed his team into the lead.

Hazlehead’s lead lasted for seven minutes when a move by Kincorth’s Livingstone and Kemp broke down a shaky Hazlehead defence and let Ryan Law head home the equaliser.

In thirty three minutes Hazlehead’s Milne made keeper Stephen save at full stretch. At the other end Kincorth’s Thomson’s shot hit the crossbar with keeper Fraser beaten making the half time score 1-1.

Fifty minutes into the game Hazlehead’s Colvin had a great chance after breaking through Kincorth’s defence but his miskicked his shot and the ball went past the post. Kincorth’s Durrand made a chance but keeper Fraser made a fine save.

The game got a bit scrappy and several needleess fouls were committed by both teams and there was no further scoring at ninety minutes putting the game into extra time.

Kincorth had the better of the opening period of extra time and took the lead on ninety five minutes when Andrew Gove fired the ball beyond Fraser. They continued to press forward and doubled their advantage minutes later when an excellent outswinging cross from Simpson was converted by Tommy Davie at the far post.

In the second period of extra time Andrew Gove added a fourth goal for Kincorth to put the result beyond doubt and secured Kincorth’s place in the final at Allan Park on Sunday May 9th where they will meet Sportsmans Club.
