Three minutes into the second half Bon Accord equalised when a move involving Davidson and Bartlet ended with Mark Bartlet scoring from close range. In fifty-two minutes referee Innes awarded a goal to MS United then when it was pointed out to him the ball went past the post and hit the side netting he then gave a goal kick.

Bon Accord had a fifteen minute spell when they pushed forward in numbers but could not get past a hard-working strong defence and the score remained 1-1 after ninety minutes.

In ninety seven minutes MS United’s Alan Lloyd shot his team into the lead with a right foot drive. In the second period of extra time the visitors’ Stewart Mclaren scored from twenty five yards making the score 2-2 at the end of extra time.
