Glendale 2 – 2 West End

Division One (East) at Maryculter on Saturday 22nd August

A point to both teams was a fair result in an exciting game played on a good surface.

Both teams made chances early on but it was Glendale who led at half time by a goal in the thirteenth minute from Andrew Noble. The ball was played into the middle by Bissett and Noble with his back to goal back heeled the ball past keeper Gilbert.

The first twenty minutes of the half belonged to Glendale who had West End defence under pressure. West End’s first chance came in twenty one minutes when from a corner on the left Glendale’s Will cleared the ball off the line.

In twenty nine minutes from a quick throw in to Glendale the ball rattled off the bar from the head of Glendale’s Noble. Although play flowed from end to end for the rest of the half there was no addition to Noble’s goal.

Half-time: 1-0

West End started the second half the better team and in fifty eight minutes Glendale’s keeper Walker could not hold a fierce free kick from Sim and Alexander Gray stepped in to level the score.

Six minutes later West End went ahead when Craig Cummine scored from a corner. West End were unlucky in seventy eight minutes when Glendale’s keeper Walker pushed the ball round the post at full stretch.

In eighty three minutes West End’s Cummine pulled down Oag in the box and Christopher Garden converted the spot kick to make the final score 2-2.

Full Time: 2-2
