Highland Hotel 2 – 0 BSFC

Chattan Rovers Cup Quarter Final at Balmedie on Saturday 29th November

Highland Hotel go into the semi final of the Chattan Rovers Cup beating opponents BSFC on a rock hard surface at Balmedie. This was the only fixture to take place in the Aberdeenshire Amateur ranks today.

Goals from Cameron and Robertson gave Highland Hotel the upper hand in the first half. BSFC were struggling to get out of their own half but in ten minutes a move by their Bruce and Kurek gave the latter a chance which went wide of the post.

Highland Hotel’s Cameron‘s goal came in fifteen minutes when he turned in the box and drove the ball home from fifteen yards 1-0. Highland Hotel had chance after chance but could not hit the target until the thirty-sixth minute when Robertson‘s shot was pushed into the goal by the diving keeper’s hand.

Half-time: 2-0

The second half saw BSFC come more into the game putting pressure on Highland Hotel’s defence who stood firm. BSFC were unlucky when a shot from Kurek hit the bar, rebounded into to play only to be cleared upfield.

Highland Hotel lost the rhythm they had in the first half, could not string passes together and were being caught in possession. As the game went on the frost came down making the underfoot conditions slippery creating problems when the players tried to turn. BSFC kept pushing forward but could not get the ball into the net and the score remained 2-0 at full time.

Full time: 2-0
