The Scottish Amateur Football Association has been advised of the decision of the International FA Board to the effect that the wearing of “snoods” or neck scarves by players is prohibited with immediate effect. A copy of the circular which was sent to the SAFA on this issue is available for the information of all clubs.
The Match Secretary announced at the General Committee Meeting of all clubs on 10th March that midweek fixtures will commence on Monday 4th April.
The next General Committee Meeting will take place on Thursday 10th March. The meeting will be held in the International Lounge in the Richard Donald Stand at Pittodrie Stadium and starts at 7.30pm. All clubs are asked to attend.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the City of Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10K road race – a perfect opportunity for budding runners to focus their efforts into what will be a memorable occasion. The 10K is open to everyone, whether you’re a serious athlete, looking to increase personal fitness or just taking part for fun.
The Association Medal for 2010 has been awarded to George Matthew of Alford. The Medal was presented to George in recognition of the outstanding service which he has given to Alford and to amateur football over the past 28 years.

Aberdeenshire AFA Select represented by Bon Accord City regained the George Stephen Trophy afer a hard fought game against Midlands Select. Philip Craig and Scott Craig got the goals which gave Aberdeenshire a 2-0 lead. With 15 minutes Craig Scringer got one back for the visitors but they couldn’t find an equaliser in the closing stages.
The George Stephen Trophy match between the Aberdeenshire AFA and the Midlands AFA will now be played on Tuesday 26th October at Hillhead with a 7.15 kick-off. Reigning Premier Division champions Bon Accord City will represent the AAFA.
