Midweek Fixtures

The Match Secretary announced at the General Committee Meeting of all clubs on 4th March that midweek fixtures will commence on Monday 5th April.



Return of Trophies

Clubs who won trophies in season 2008/09 are reminded that these should be returned to the Association Secretary by 31st March.



General Committee Meeting – 4th March

The next General Committee Meeting will take place on Thursday 4th March. The meeting will be held in the International Lounge in the Richard Donald Stand at Pittodrie Stadium and starts at 7.30pm. All clubs are asked to attend.



John Todd Memorial Trophy

John was a highly successful player with Hilton and Sunnybank over many years and his family and friends presented a trophy to the Association to honour his memory after he sadly passed away last year. The John Todd Memorial Trophy will be contested annually by the teams finishing in the top four places in the Premier Division in the previous season.



Association Medal Awarded to Terry Massie

The Association Medal for 2009 has been awarded to Terry Massie, Secretary of Kincorth FC. The award was in recognition of the 25 years of outstanding service which he has given to the club. In addition Terry also served on the Executive Committee of the AAFA for many years and was the Association’s Vice-President between 2000 and 2007.



Website Advertising

The website has now been active since October 2008 and is now a popular destination for followers of amateur football in Aberdeenshire and beyond. The Association would like to offer businesses the opportunity to place advertising on the site. The General Committee Meeting due to be held on the 7th January has been re-arranged for Thursday 21st January. The meeting will still be held at Pittodrie Stadium, starting at 7.30pm. All clubs are asked to attend.

No Fixtures on 26th December and 2nd January

It was confirmed at the General Committee Meeting on 5th November that there will be no AAFA fixtures on Saturday 26th December 2009 or Saturday 2nd January 2010.



Charlie Summers, Glendale FC

It was with great sadness that the Association learned of the death of Charlie Summers who passed away on 13th November at the age of 82. Charlie was the founding father of Glendale FC in 1972 and was the mainstay of the club until only a few seasons ago when his health forced him to retire. He still managed to attend the odd game and was there at the end of May when the club secured its first ever League title.
